Friends – I mentioned this posting today in class and wanted to repost it here for you to read. The author is Tony Romano, a friend of man who I really respect. He is also the Pastor of Christ Redeemer Church in Newark, Ohio.
On the morning of Tuesday, June 14, 1994, I woke up at 10:06AM. I was 19 years old and I lived in my parent’s basement. My alarm didn’t wake me up because I didn’t set it. Like I said, I was 19 and I lived in my parent’s basement. If I didn’t have to be at work, I wasn’t setting my alarm. If my dad didn’t make me get up, I’d sleep right up until Guiding Light came on. But my mom’s frantic scream for my dad woke me up that morning. My digital alarm clock said, “10:06.” I heard my dad’s footsteps as he ran from his room to my brother’s. That’s where my mom was.
